Discus and support Controller sleeping mode please :) :)???? in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I’m sure someone has thought of this but thought I’d put it out there.     Controller sleeping mode please :) :)????


    I’m sure someone has thought of this but thought I’d put it out there. I was watching YouTube but my batteries were low so I just thought why isn’t there a sleep mode for controllers to save battery? It could be so simple, the controller “sleeps” if it doesn’t get used for 5 minutes but is still on. Obviously there is a feature similar to this where the controller turns off but it is actually kind of annoying. I’d love to hear your opinions, thanks!

    Unfortunately it doesn't work I'm using the controller wired without the battery charge pack in, maybe I have to have the battery pack in also but that doesn't make sense. Give it a try.

    I'd actually like to see this as an option in the settings menu. I understand that it's there to help battery life of the controllers, but they should give us the option like with the Screen Dimming feature.

    I personally bypass the controller sleeping with a Keyboard I have plugged into my Xbox. It not only helps with typing, but you can also navigate Youtube and Hulu with it just to name a few.

    I don't think the controller should turn off when it is wired into your xbox. A wireless controller will turn off after 15 minutes to save battery though.

    As a workaround to prevent the controller going to sleep mode, you might try and use a rubber band to tie one of the analogue sticks into any direction, or put a book or something similar on the controller so the analogue stick is pushed into a direction,
    so the controller "thinks" it's being actively used and doesn't go to sleep.

    Unfortunately, I don't know of any other way or setting in windows, to prevent the game from "losing" the sleeping controller.
