Controller on Bethesda games through Game Pass

My son loves playing Skyrim and Oblivion. We wanted to get a new Series X but they are impossible for regular people to get. I saw that the Bethesda games were added to Game Pass and that Game Pass can work with a Windows 10 computer. Problem solved I thought. So I bought a Series X controller (waiting for that day regular people can buy one), purchased Game Pass Ultimate, and downloaded Oblivion. Things should be great. Sigh but they are not. The version of Oblivion in the Microsoft store does not work with our new XBox Series X controller. Skyrim does. Nearly every other game I have downloaded does, but not Oblivion. Is there a way to fix it so that my son can play Oblivion and use his XBox controller?? The fate of a system and continued subscription may ride on this....

if i had to guess game pass gives you the windows version of oblivion which never got controller support. There are apps that allow you to map mouse and keyboard to a controller but in my experience its doesn't quite get the job done good enough. Sadly the only real way is to play with controller is on console.

depending on his age you can just let him try mouse and keyboard. my son picked it up at 6 and surprised me. kids are pretty determined when it comes to things they wanna do

Most games from Capcom, Square Enix and Bethesda in Game Pass are great games.

I also noticed that going to different categories just has multiple copies of the same games from other categories. What I'm looking for is pretty much a list that says "Here's every game you can play or access via PC when signed up for Game Pass" and then it lists everything on one page. If it includes EA Play stuff then cool. Bethesda stuff I'm not worried about as I've got pretty much every Bethesda game through Steam already.

So what brought me here was the pain in the rear that NieR Automata is on Steam. I seen it was available on Game Pass for PC and there were a few other games I wouldn't have mind trying, plus the addition of adding my EA Play sub to Game Pass was decent as well. Now when I go to 'All PC Games' through the Xbox app they have you download, NieR Automata isn't listed as a PC Game. I'm sure it's not EA Play or a Bethesda game, so I'm wondering why it says it's available online for PC via Game Pass, but in the actual app it's not listed?

Technically it's still with Bethesda. It's being done by Zenimax, and Bethesda is a sub company of Zenimax. So technically it's the other way around. Zenimax had given the control to the Bethesda department for development of the games over the years.
