Controller not working on MW2

I can not get my Elite series 2 to work with the game Call of duty modern warfare 2 it is completely unresponsive unless I turn on steam but when I try using steam the button mapping is all wrong and I tried to configure the button mapping in game and in the steam app and still it won't work. I also updated the firmware and that didn't work ethier. I used my controller yesterday with no button mapping issues and I was using steam because the controller was still unresponsive without steam. I have tried everything I can and I'm all out of resources...I been searching for hours just for a fix.

Yes, problem is only for MW2, all other games work. Old controller works fine on MW2.

if my old controller is off, and i try to play mw2 with new controller ,it says somethin like this: turn on controller or keyboard. (i am not at home right now,i can check later what exsakli it saing there.) If my oled controller is on then i can move in mw2 menu with my new controller,but if game starts then only the home putton works and i can only play with my old controller.

I understand that you want to use your Elite series 2 controller with the game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on your Windows PC. To do that, you need to follow these steps:

1. Make sure your controller is updated to the latest firmware version. You can do this by connecting your controller to your Xbox console or PC and using the Xbox Accessories app.

2. Connect your controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10.

3. Launch the game and go to the settings menu. Select the controller option and make sure it is enabled and configured to your preference.

I'm having the same problem with this guy did and we already did all that stuff probably didn't respond cuz your help was useless our controller works properly everywhere else outside of your game the problem seems to be that whatever game we installed the controller with and used it first is the only controller it'll ever connect to and also I'm on the Xbox console so it's an even bigger issue

I’m having same issue but my Left Trigger does not work on MW2. It works on every other game and menus just not on MW2.
