Controller for Xbox one , right joystick not responding ??

My Xbox was being weird and one night my controller stopped responding, it would turn the console on but wouldn’t respond to any of the buttons other than the power on.

I did a hard reset on the controller, unplugged it for the entire night and following day, I plugged it back in and the controller worked but not the right joystick

Since then, I’ve tried the troubleshoot solutions of resetting and power on and off and the second power tone solutions, nothings worked.

At this point I’m tempted to just get another controller but I got the controller tester app and all the controls work and respond. It’s only in game and on the Home Screen,

I’ve ran Hulu the other night and the right joystick responded on there but didn’t on any other app. I am at a loss and just about to give up cause nothing makes sense

    :)

Controller for Xbox one , right joystick not responding ??

Hello Page, my name is Jose, I am a player like you and it would be a pleasure to help you

For this current state of the problem, I can recommend the following steps to take.

1.Make sure your controller has fresh batteries and is up to date.

2.Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10
    3.seconds.

3.Once your console is off, unplug the power cable.

4.Wait 5 minutes and then connect your console.

5.Turn on your console and try to resync the controller with your console again.

Thrustmaster HOTAS one not recognized by Xbox Series X

    Hi,

Thanks for responding. I am not sure what you mean. I have connected a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS one (flight)joystick to my Xbox with the USB cable that came with the joystick. I am not sure what "pairing and syncing" you are referring to. The guide says "plug cable in and start Xbox" then I should be able to use the joystick as controller but the joystick remains unresponsive?

    :-(

    Adaptive accessories

The two respective 'joystick' controls are designed to do exactly what you described, on controls directional navigation and the other controls 'free look', so not, it's not likely you can compress all of those functions into one joystick.
Thanks for responding. That's really disappointing to hear, since the point of the adaptive controller and handheld adaptive joystick is to make the system accessible to people who have physical limitations. In this case the user only has use of one
hand, so wouldn't be able to use two joysticks.

My right stick is not working

Hello Zachary D, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with the right stick on your Xbox controller. Here are some possible solutions you could try:

Reset the controller: Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller for about 6 seconds to turn it off. Then, press the Xbox button to turn the controller back on.
Update USB drivers: Go to “Device Manager” on your computer, expand the “Universal Serial Bus Controls” folder, right-click each of the USB options and select “Update Driver.”
Uninstall the current controller driver: Go to “Device Manager” on your computer, select “Xbox Peripherals > Xbox One Controller,” and uninstall the controller.
Check joystick compatibility: Make sure the joystick is compatible with your Xbox controller.
Adjust joystick sensitivity: You can adjust joystick sensitivity settings with the Xbox Accessories app.

I hope these tips help you resolve your issues with the right stick on your Xbox controller.

    Best regards.

How to Fix Xbox Controller Drift Issue?

    Hello Camie Paiz,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

The Xbox controller drift (also known as joystick drift) you're experiencing is a common problem, especially after prolonged use. Drift usually refers to the controller's joysticks (especially the left or right joysticks) moving on their own without any action, or triggering certain motions when there is no manual input. This problem is usually caused by wear and tear on the joystick sensors or buildup of debris such as dust.
A common cause of drift is the buildup of dust, grease, or dirt under the joystick, which can affect the performance of its sensors. The following methods can be used

    1. Clean the controller:
Turn off the controller and make sure it is not connected to any devices.
Use compressed air or a cotton swab (moistened with a small amount of alcohol) to gently clean the area around the joysticks, especially the edges of the joysticks and the sensor section.
You can also try using a microfiber cloth to clean the surface of the joysticks.

    2. Recalibrate the controller
Xbox controllers sometimes drift because they are not calibrated correctly, try recalibrating the controller:
Open Settings → Devices & Accessories.
Select your controller, click Configure, then select Calibrate and follow the on-screen prompts. 3.

    3. Check the deadband adjustment in Settings
Some Xbox controller drift issues may be caused by the controller's Dead Zone setting. The dead zone is the area of the controller that does not respond when the controller's joystick is not fully returned to center. By adjusting the Dead Zone, you may be able to reduce the effects of drift.
In some games, especially through the Xbox Accessories app, you can adjust the joystick's Dead Zone setting:
Download and open the Xbox Accessories app in the Microsoft Store.
Connect your controller and select it.
In the Settings menu, find the option for Joystick Deadband and try adjusting the deadband value to see if it alleviates the drifting issue.

Please feel free contact me if you need more help.

    Best regards
