Controller doesn't stay connected...

My controller disconnects atleast once every 20 minutes. Sometimes it will reconnect itself, sometimes I have to take batteries out and put back in to reboot controller. It does this every single day. I've tried everything on the controller support suggestions.
I even changed the metal stand my xbox is sitting on. There are absolutely no interferences in the room to disrupt signal. I'm sick of this...

Also, why cant I find an xbox support number? Why do I have to type? I want help now!

^ was thinking the same thing as the gentlemen above me. Certain devices around the house or within close proximity can cancel out wireless controllers. Similar frequencies can cancel out each other. You have another controller you could check to see if
it has similar issues. If it is just that controller and the other one is working fine, it might be a faulty controller.

Controller will not stay connected

Gave my nimh batteries a full charge and bought another pair so I could swap and haven't had any issue since. I also padded the battery compartment a bit with tape.

One of those steps solved the problem since nothing else changed. Same console & controller. No changes in wireless devices or the network.

That's odd... Can you double check if the firmware for each Xbox controller is in the latest version available?

For this connect the controller via cable to the console > open the accessories app and check

If everything is up to date, try the opposite. Downgrade the firmware

Not sure if this is relevant, but my Xbox also sometimes doesn't connect wirelessly to my controllers and I have to hard reset. Occasionally if I connect via cord, it gets done and I can detach the cord and it stays connected. But more often than not, even
after getting positive feedback from the controller on a wired connection, the Xbox still won't recognize the equipment and refuses to connect. Repairing obviously doesn't work here either.

If the Xbox is using the same tech to connect to the wifi and the controllers, could this also be a problem?

Sorry you're having problems with your controller. Do you have one controller that is working fine and one controller that is not working? If so then it may be your controller. If not then it may be your console, which we'll need to figure out. Also can
you verify that you performed the power cycle by actually unplugging the Xbox? With the instant-on feature often the Xbox does not fully shut down. If you've done this, updated the firmware on the controller, and still are having issues then I would recommend
contacting support here to see if you still have a warranty on your controller. If you do have a warranty left on it then please
go here and you can request a new controller.
