Controller doesn’t respond to buttons

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your controller.

• If you don't mind, could you give this a try?

- Press and hold your controller's Xbox button until it shuts down.
- If applicable, remove your controller's batteries and the USB cable.
- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.
- Remove all external devices from the console's USB ports, and leave them like that.
- Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes. If you have the original Xbox
One, you'll need to unplug the power supply unit from both the console and the
outlet.
- Plug the power cord back in. If possible, please make sure to use one of the wall's outlets.
- Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

• If that doesn't work, I'd appreciate it if you could answer the following questions.

- May I ask which Xbox model you are using?
- May I ask what kind of Xbox controller you are using?
- Are you experiencing the same issues with other controllers?

There is no error that pops up. It just doesn’t respond. Like when I go to a multiplayer screen it says to hit a or any button on controller, I do that but nothing. If I press the Xbox button on that controller it will let me access the main menus

It is just a feeling, my friend. If the controller works normally then everything is ok? Is it working normally?

to see if the buttons are registering and the issue is with the controller connect it to a PC. Download the game controller tester app from the MS Store.
