    Controller disconnects when used to turn on the console


    Hey guys, so I’ve been facing this issue ever since I bought the Xbox One X.

    When I hit the home button on my controller the Xbox will power on just fine, however, the controller will lose sync shortly after. I am unable to re-sync the controller with the system using the sync buttons when this happens but it does sync back up if
    I just turn the controller off and then turn it back on. If I turn the Xbox on using the button on the front of the console and then turn on the controller afterwards everything works just fine.

    The problem only seems to occur when using the controller to power on the console.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    More controller disconnects after FEB update

    Just wanted to report that instead of a disconnect every week or so now I'm getting several disconnects every day after the February console and controller update. Also when I hold the xbox button it turns the controller off and only shows the turn off console
    option.

    Controller disconnects when used to power on xbox console

    I also noticed that the controller loses connection when it is connected via USB cable attached to a USB charger. It is only working fine when it is connected to the Xbox via USB cable and has no batteries inside of it. This happens with all three controllers
    I own. I'm still unable to resolve this Controller disconnects when used to turn on the console :(

    Hey there Slayer! First disconnect all accessories from the console. Try syncing the headset to the console and when fully synced, try syncing the controller, not just turning it on. Let us know if that helps!

    Sorry to hear it. I'm afraid that if your headset connects to the console using bluetooth like the controller then there is no way to disconnect it other than connecting it to another device.

    I have this same problem when my kids use my console with their controllers. Afterwards they go upstairs to play on the family one and turn my console on when it resyncs

    Hi there,

    just for the controllers not connecting part, can you power the console down, when it is fully turned off please disconnect the power supply from the wall socket and console and leave it disconnected for 1 minute.

    Wifi Disconnects then Controller

    Even with the wireless now turned off (using ethernet) the controller disconnects randomly and will not re-sync without turning it off and on a few times. As I recall the controller uses wifi direct to connect to the console. Fantastic.

    Controllers wont power on system, if so, then won't sync

    I have the exact same problem.

    I can use the controllers for any length of time once connected but as soon as I turn the console off the controller gets disconnected once I turn the unit back on.

    If I try to turn the unit back on via the controller the LED on the controller simply flashes and the console stays off.

    If I turn the console on manually the controller isn't connected and no amount of re'syncing will fix it.

    The only way for me to reconnect the controller is to do a full system reset and then use the controller to turn on the console.

    Really annoying having to full reset my console every time I want to use it.

    Considering returning the console.
