Controller defect

Has anyone else ran in a sudden problem where your controller right joystick just randomly looks up or down you dont even have to have your hands on it for some reason either the sensor just defected or the sensor has went bad i dont know but i cant replace
it because i dont have to money to and its past warranty i thinks its funny how after warranty you controller can defect and before anyone ask i do not throw or slam my controller enough to actually cause a sensor to go bad if i did the entire joystick wouldnt
move but it does

I have two defective controllers and it makes Absolutely Zero sense to purchase another controller that becomes defective because of Microsoft.

and open a repair request if necessary.

It will be the sensor in the analogue that will be loose, ive encountered it a few times, with FPS games you can adjust the deadzone on your right analogue to counter the drift.

The larger the deadzone the greater input you have to input for it to register the movement, ie if its only slight drift it should eliviate it.

There are people on ebay who will replace or refurbish the controller as the sensor is roughly about £20 for example if you are in the uk.

There are plenty of tutorials online, but id highly recommend buying the security star keys if you wish to replace it yourself.
