Controller connection issues when resuming standby

So here we are, 4 years after this thread:

My Xbox one controller won't turn on the console after a few day without turning on the system

I am STILL having this issue. It is driving my girlfriend and I insane. I have tried everything from that thread. I switched to beta builds for a long time and thought that was the issue. Left the preview program and did a hard reset. The problem happened
on the next resume attempt. Hard to believe that after all this time MS has done NOTHING to fix this issue. May just have to start leaning on my PS4 more because this problem is just not a priority to MS.

Freezing when resuming from standby mode

For the last week or so, my xbox will not play apps or games after resuming from standby mode. Sometimes, it will display the splash screen when starting the app or game, but it will never load. Sometimes, trying to choose a game or app is just unresponsive.
Any ideas what may be causing this?

Heya!

If you are still running into issues with controller sync and controlling the console's power most likely the console needs a repair.

In order to get that process started you can
register the console online, or reach out to the
chat or phone team.

To be sure have you followed all of the steps on the controller
sync troubleshooting guide?

Controllers not syncing would cause the problem and can be related to all kinds of household electronics being located near the console.

Do feel free to post back and let us know if those steps helped or if you run into issues with setting up a repair!

Xbox has had a standby mode since Xbox One launched

You should place the console in energy saver mode and try that. Sometimes when you resume from standby the console fails to reestablish external connections.

To not use quick resume when on standby:

- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

- Select System > Settings > Power & startup > Power mode & startup.

- Under Quick resume, toggle the setting to Off.

To remove your game from the quick resume:

- First, click on the Xbox button on your Controller, then “My games & apps”.

- You will locate the list of games that are currently used in the feature Quick Resume.

- Head to the game with the quick resume saved states that you are looking to remove (in this case, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion).

- In the highlighted game on your controller hit the Menu button (a small button with the 3 horizontal lines icon) to open up the pop-up menu.

- Now in your pop-up menu, click on “Remove from Quick Resume”.
