    Controller BRICKED


    After new Xbox One system update I began to get messages to update my controller. I hooked up controller to usb cable and began the process. At 2% it said their was an issue connecting the controller. My controller turned off and now nothing I do gets it
    to turn on. I see through many discussions through your forum and tons of outside forums that this is a known issue that Microsoft refuses to acknowledge... Requiring the end user to purchase a new controller. Is this correct? Has any resolution been found?

    The controller update bricked my controller.

    Im in the preview and today console update is working for bricked controller!!!!!

    Power cycle the console, and if you're using rechargeable batteries, switch them out for normal ones.

    After the restart attempt to resync the controller again.

    Hi

    Just to add to what Geth has said if you are still not able to get the controller to sync can you please try below?

    It sounds like the update has not fully completed can you try fully powering down the console by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds. Once the console has powered off remove the batteries and connect the controller
    to the console using a USB cable then power the console back on using the power button on the console itself After the dashboard has loaded please wait for 10-15 before you try to use the console of controller and if the controller update has not completed
    it will hopefully do so during this time.

    Warning ! Do not brick your controller . New controller update procedure stay away like the plague.

    it's bloody unbelievable that the $40 i just spent, bricked my controller. now i have to spend another $60 on a controller, that also might brick if i update it.

    right before titanfall too.
