Controller becoming unresponsive

This is happening to me as well. Already exchanged my Xbox One X with another one (also Project Scorpio Edition). Both exhibit same behavior. Controller turns on the console then desyncs. I have to turn it off and on again for it to resync.

This only happens when console is completely off.

 

I have same problem. Already went through three Xbox One Xs. Latest build 1711 did not fix it.

 

Ok....i read something and cant try it now but wanna share it with you: Put your Xbox directly into the wall power plug and NOT into a multiple power cable (We say Steckerleiste in Germany) should fix it!! Some users say it works on Facebook.

Maybe give it a go......?!

 

Already tried that. Didn’t work either.

 

Same here, the same problem even with full charge. I tried with stylus batteries and also with the play&charge kit, using the Xbox One X black controller included with the console and also an Xbox One S controller (the white one with Bluetooth and audio
jack).

 

I have an Xbox One and two original, wireless controllers, all purchased new in August 2015. A week before this post,
both controllers began experiencing connection/communication issues across
multiple video games. Symptoms are intermittent but readily reproducible and include:

1) Lag from a controller joystick or button input to a system response;

2) A brief joystick or button command "sticking" and the system continuing to respond even after the input has ceased;

3) A controller losing connectivity to the Xbox altogether but remaining "on" and still detected by the system (i.e., the pop-up to re-connect a controller does not appear but the controller is completely unresponsive; this last symptom occurs rarely).

I took the following actions, as per Microsoft's troubleshooting page:

1) Ensured controllers, xbox, and games were completely up to date;

2) That fresh batteries were being used;

3) Reset the connection of both controllers more than once;

4) Power-cycled the xbox more than once.

Power-cycling and re-connecting were done multiple times in different orders. Nothing has worked to improve connectivity; in fact, symptoms are becoming more frequent.

A tech support call to Microsoft turned up no results other than to purchase a new controller.

If anyone is experiencing similar symptoms, please upvote.

 

Already sent the console for repair again. Hopefully 4th time's a charm.

 

So....can you guys confirm that the Elite Controller still works fine with the X?

Im planing on buying one.

Any other news about it?

I'm having the same issue since the latest update. I had no issues before that. I thought at first it was just my elite controller, but then I switched to the controller that came with the Scorpio edition and the same thing happened. Very frustrating. No
updates needed to either controller and my set up has not changed. Batteries are fresh. I don't know what else to do. I've done a hard reset as well and that works temporarily and then it starts back up.

 

I'll be blunt: This isn't an "update problem." I have had issues with this since DAY ONE (Scorpio Edition). It bothered me so much I joined the preview on my X (which I originally was going to keep out of the preview) just to report
it. In one instance, my attempts to report it actually ended with the controller dying 8 times while filling out the actual information (with a total of 26 in that day). I had to use voice commands to complete my bug!

I have an S which worked perfectly MOMENTS before (and STILL works without ANY issue in my bedroom.) All controllers are Up To Date. All controllers range from DAY ONE (2013), Gen 2, Halo 5 Editions, Elite, and the Scorpio Edition it came with. I tested
with every single one.

The only solutions seem to be playing with a USB cable or rebooting. If you're lucky to have it just lose connection briefly, you CAN continue, but once this happens it WILL lose connection it's just a matter of time.

This situation is frustrating because every thread has other people commenting it is happening but no one from MS is attempting to respond. I suggest hitting Twitter HARD with this situation. We spent 500 dollars on this and there is ZERO reason this should
occur. I would not be surprised if this issue was what held up the FCC from regulating the damned thing the more I think about it and I am VERY concerned this is a hardware issue and Software updates will not fix it.

Imagine, sending in your Scorpio Editions and being told you're effed or that you will need all new controllers in your home.

I'm a little peeved at this situation. As a very loyal and positive member of Xbox (from Beta on OG through today) this is one of the absolute worst assessments ever. At least with RROD they didn't leave me in the dark.

 

I’m already at my fourth Scorpio still with the same problem!! I’ll just trade it for the display version they have at th store cause every controller works perfectly there!!

I don’t know what the problem but this is frustrating and being a lawyer I’m tempted to sue them. I just want the stupid controllers to work properly!!!!!
