Controller alternatives for Streaming on Phone?

I have the exact same problem. Use to stream on my phone with connected controller all the time but now controller won't work except pressing B button to stop streaming.

My understanding is that Smartglass will let you use your phone to control movie playback on your Xbox connected to your TV. It doesn't allow you to stream movies from the Xbox to your phone. Certainly not when you're out of range of your home wifi network.

You may be able to stream movies via Xbox Movies but that's a pay per view service. It's streaming from Microsoft's servers, not your Xbox.

Have you used the controller with anything else? E.g. laptop/PC, mobile phone? It could be trying to connect to another device. Mine did this sometimes. It tried to connect to my mobile phone for streaming play. I use a different one for Xbox now as the
GoW controller is the only one I have that is Bluetooth, so I keep that for my phone.

Have you tried a pair of brand new batteries?

Alternatively, have you also tried plugging in the controller to the Xbox with a micro-USB cord? (that's the same cord most Android phones use)

There isn't a way to directly stream media content from your phone to the xbox. Roundabout would be to have it where your Zune Pc software is configured to stream to the Xbox. When you sync the phone to the Zune software your pics and videos are updated
to your PC. You then can use the Xbox to stream your pics and videos on your PC through the Zune connection. Also, there is a free app on the WP7 called 'Xbox Companion'. It connects your Wp7 phone to the Xbox so you can do some limited control along with
seeing what is currently played/previously played.
