    Control children adding new friends

Hello. I currently have 3 Xbox ones in my household for my children. I have them added under me as a family and have restrictions on their purchases, screen time, etc.

What I'd like to find out is how to allow friend requests but only letting them process with my approval. Under the family settings, it's either an "On" on an "Off", from what I can find.

I'd like for them to still receive the friend requests but only be allowed to add them after I approve. I want to make sure they're adding friends that they actually know in person rather than some random people on Fortnite.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

  2. Adding New Friends

    Hey there, GeneralTans15

Have you tried adding them though the Xbox App on Windows 10, or Smart Glass for Xbox One, on other devices yet?

You may also want to see if you can add your friends through the Xbox live website. You can do so, though this link here:

    live.xbox.com/.../Profile
and click onto friends. Sometimes, with the Xbox One, it can lag when adding people as friends. When I add someone, it takes about an hour for the notification to pop up on their screens, telling them that I have added them as
    a friend.

So I have more of an idea what could be causing this issue, as well, could you please provide any error messages you, or your friends, receive when trying to add each other though the Xbox One?

If you don't get an error message/code, please try though the website, as that should display an error message or code for you, if there is a problem with adding someone.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

I've tried adding people on my smartglass app, the Xbox live website on my phone, and on my laptop. My friends have also done the same. Nothing seems to work and none of us have received error messages.

    Control children adding new friends

    Hello DaRed,

I was trying to find that setting but, I was unable to find it myself. There only seems to be the ability to turn them on or off, as you stated. This does sound like something that should be added in though. I recommend taking this idea to our
Xbox ideas page. You can add suggestions, votes, and comments to active Ideas.

I will continue to investigate this issue as well. If I find anything, I will be back here to update you.

    Thank you!
