contact seller

I have been gifted destiny 2 forsaken and have been asked to contact seller to attain a code for my region. I have had this before with pubg yet behold it resides in my games list. I will be keeping track of this thread as I am requesting something requested
of me, the need for a code for my region. The exact words of the redeem code bot were to contact the seller for a code for my region(no easy task). Would it not be better to just give said people with these issues a code for their region rather than cause
all this customer frustration?

Well, i contacted ebay asking why a seller is still selling an item when they told me they were out of stock. They contacted the seller informing of infractions etc, while i was still in the live chat with the ebay agent the seller contacted me saying "We just in stock now !", rejoice! its a miracle! they contacted me again via my mobile confirming my details, tho i dont think they understood my irish tongue. anyhow, im awaiting delivery of my items. fingers crossed i get them this time.

Looks like you have to contact the seller and register now.

 

That depends on where you have purchased the game code for as sometimes third party retailers should verify that for you. In your place I would follow the bot's suggestion and contact the retailer where that game was purchased from.

if it were so simple they likely would, but since different regions have different taxes, laws and also pricing it just can't work like that.

Plus it states in the text prior to purchasing a gift that it is region bound.

I agree with M3tal Daz3, you should be able to contact the retailer for more information since the code didn't work specifically for your region. For another option, you can look at the

Xbox Redeem Prepaid Code page on how to switch your region so that the code can be redeemed.

The the text to contact seller for a new code needs to be removed. This is not a solution like I was given before. I have a Swedish copy of pubg that I can play in South Africa, those have differences in tax law etc I'm sure. I've had this resolved before
with the assurance that this issue was being looked into. That which has been purchased must be attainable, should it not?

 

Already tried this as it was step 1 the last time

 

Basically when someone is buying a gift for someone else through the console or online a box will popup before finishing the transaction that says that this gift will ONLY be able to be used in the region that it is purchased in. For instance say I have
a friend in Australia that wants to gift me (I live in the US) a game he would not be able to do that because we live in two different regions. Hence this is where this error you are getting is coming from there is no way around it the only thing that we can
recommend is to have whoever gifted you this game is to have them contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and see if they can get a refund.

 

As I stated before, there was a different outcome to the last time this happened.

This is just a public forum full of fellow gamers that have no access to your account information.

 

There was a direct link to contact support but I could no longer find it, hence my last resort. If you are purchasing an item for someone on the store it should automatically take the region into account in future as to eliminate this problem. Look I have
no idea as to the undertaking of such a task, but there has to be a step in place to help combat this. This is just frustrating as last time(months ago) I was assured this was being looked into by the agent I dealt with, who by the way was an absolute star
and got me into the game within an hour!

 

I know that this is frustrating. But for tax and legal reasons, Microsoft can't allow people buying gifts in one country and let others redeem the game in another country.

If it were that easy to do, Microsoft would surely have done it in the blink of an eye.

However, currently, there is no way than to contact the person that bought you the code, so they can get a refund.

You will need to find someone in your country that can gift you the game.

 

There was an attempt to rectifying this whole problem, but it seems the refund hasn't worked out so well either!
