  1. Constant Internet and Xbox Live Connection Issues since adding Xbox One X to my network (2 ...

Super frustrated and about to cancel Xbox Live for the first time in who knows how long. I've been an Xbox Live member for over a decade.

I had the original Xbox, the original 360 as well as every iteration of the 360 (including the one that kinda matched the Xbox One in looks). Never had an issue connecting to the internet or Xbox Live.

Bought the original Xbox One when it came out. Traded it in for the Xbox One S when it came out. Never an issue with connecting to the internet or Xbox Live.

But on launch day I got an Xbox One X. I kept my Xbox One S in the basement and put the Xbox One X in my living room as I have 4k TVs in both. Set everything up and it seemed fine. But within a few weeks I started noticing that my Xbox One X would not
sign me in to my profile when I turned it on. I thought maybe it's because I have two Xbox One systems in my house. Then it started not signing me in to Xbox Live. Then it started not even connecting to the internet. I would have to restart it multiple
times. Maybe I've got a lemon Xbox One X?!!

Except that my Xbox One S is doing the same thing. Never an issue before this. I've reset both consoles and redownloaded everything. I have reset my router on the network as well. Still happening. Tonight my daughters and I were going to play and we
couldn't get either connected to the internet (wireless or ethernet). They would sign in to my profile briefly and then sign me out within 10 seconds. When I pulled up an Xbox 360 game on them it would sign me in within that game but when I go back to the
Xbox One menu I am signed out. Games keep telling me they are taking too long to load and there is an error and we can't play them. On both systems. And some games will not even play without an internet connection.

In my living room with the Xbox One X; I have a Smart TV, Apple TV, Wii U, and one of the docks for my Nintendo Switch. None of these items have an issue connecting (except the Xbox One X). The main router is 5 feet from them.

In my basement with the Xbox One S; I have another Smart TV, Apple TV, Steam Link, PS4, and another Nintendo Switch dock. No issues with any connecting (except the Xbox One S).

I also have two other routers here as my setup has my internet running from the main router (near the living room TV) hardlined to another router that sits next to the basement TV and hardlined to another router that sits on the upstairs level (three level
house). This extends my network throughout the house without sacrificing any speed. Professionally setup by our internet provider. When plugged into any of these routers I get consistent 290 down/300 up as I have fiber.

There is not a single device in our house (gaming systems, computers (both Mac and PC), phones, iPads, watches, TVs, AppleTVs, Roku Devices, Philips Hue devices, smart thermostat, Alexa devices, printers, etc.) that have an issue connecting to our internet,
with the exception of both Xbox Ones. It doesn't matter if it's wireless or ethernet they have the same issues and it all started once I added the Xbox One X onto the network with my existing Xbox One S.

I'm at my wits-end on this. I am highly technologically adept. I setup, organize, backup, link and do all of this by myself. I even organized the creation of the wired-expansion of routers in my home from the main network line, but had my ISP do the line
installs as I didn't want to mess with installing lines in my walls.

I feel like having 2 Xbox Ones on the same network has confused them and they cannot function properly. Has anyone else seen this issue? Any suggestions?

    :)

One thing at first read is that you can't be signed into the same account on two Xbox consoles at the same time.

Next, you stated you have two routers. A feature of a router is to manage port traffic and IP addresses for the devices connected to it. When you add a second router, the devices connected to the second router won't be able to communicate fully to the internet.

You'll need to disable the router function of your second router and turn it into a network switch or better yet just get a network switch for your other device.

For testing, connect both xbox consoles to the first router on your network.

  5. These are airport extreme routers. They are setup to extend each other off of the same network. The network was created with the first router. A line was ran from that router to each of the other two and they are setup as extensions So they are not functioning
as different routers but as one network linked off of the first router.

You stated that devices connected to the second router won't be able to communicate fully to the internet. The PS4, an AppleTV, and a Steam Link are all connected to the second router without issue. They NEVER lose signal. It is only the Xbox that does
    so.

I understand what you're saying but do not believe it applies to this situation.

    Thanks!

What is the make and model of your "main" router?

What is the make and model of your modem? Or do you simply connect your main router to a fiber switch/fiber media converter, which translate light to copper?

Not all SOHO routers support multiple Xbox connecting to the same router Internet connection, in conjunction with UPnP (miniUPnP). For example, Netgear (Nighthawk serie) SOHO routers are known to work well with multiple Xbox consoles located on the same network.

Also, make sure your two Airport Extreme's are properly configured into bridge mode. Meaning that client IP assignmen, along with NAT, are being leased to clients by your main router

You're routers are what manage and control your network. There's no option to force the xbox to work.

Running two routers together rarely works correctly unless setup in a specific way.

The best way to test the setup and to get the "network" stuff out of the way for a testing is to have both Xbox consoles connected to the first router that's connected to your cable modem. The first router is the one that should be the primary device managing
the Network traffic. This should work and let you verify that both Xbox consoles are working correctly. Once you've got it set where both Xbox consoles are working off of the first router then you're going to want to contact apple and have then walk you through
how to disable the "router" functionality of your second router.

    Hey xTrutHxBxToLDx.

This issue sounds like it would be taken care of by port forwarding or setting up a static ip address, the steps are listed in this
