    Consolidating multiple Microsoft Accounts


    I have a very old Microsoft account that I've used for Xbox Live since the original Xbox was released. Several years ago, I created another Microsoft account for services other than Xbox. When attempting to link my old Xbox Live account over to my new Microsoft
    account, Microsoft auto-created a new Xbox Live account (w/ GamerTag). I would like to pull my old Microsoft Live account / GamerTag over to my other Microsoft account, which I use for everything. I've been told multiple times that this is not possible by
    Microsoft support. There is no way for me to have one sign in for all of my Microsoft services unless I completely delete one account and start fresh. This seems like a large product gap that needs attention. Is there anyone at Microsoft that can assist with
    joining these accounts?

    Consolidating accounts.

    I am in the process of changing email addresses. When I first signed into Xbox App for Windows 10, I tried to transfer the account before making a new gamer tag by signing into my old account. It would not take my password. I went to Microsoft 365 sign in
    and tried there which accepted my password. Going back to the sign into old account I tried to change the password, which gave me the new security check - of course I cannot determine whether the letters are capital or small, and can't make out the words spoken.
    This is the worst security check ever. I have been successful only once in about a hundred tries (literally). If Microsoft can provide a course of action to help me consolidate my accounts I would be forever grateful. Also - deep six current security check!
    I am not very fond of the "input a code sent to device" method. I think the current check could be fixed simply by writing capital letters in blue, and smaller letters in white.

    Unfortunately no. There is no way to merge accounts or transfer anything between accounts.

    It is not possible to merge two accounts or transfer games, subscription, progress or achievements to another account.

    Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well.

    We understand you'd like to consolidate multiple Microsoft accounts you have accumulated through the years into a single account.

    So just to clear things up, there is no way to "consolidate" multiple Microsoft accounts. It's just not possible. Each time a Microsoft account is created it's a standalone account and an existing Microsoft account cannot be consolidated with it and vice versa.

    As to the error message you are getting when adding a Microsoft account as an alias to another Microsoft account it is actually explained in our Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com guide. To put it simply: "Existing Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account."

    I'm aware the family plan is cancelled. Microsoft announced that you could have several accounts under a main or primary account. My question is can I run multiple consoles simultaneously with the different gamertags listed under that account and share digital
    content. I have 4 gamertags currently and the family plan worked well for me, except for having to buy multiple games and dlc. When it was announced that I could consolidate and only have to pay for one live account that could share content, it sounded good
    to me. But with my understanding there could be an issue for multiple consoles in the house now that they have changed there drm policy
