Are you able to test this Xbox 360 on another TV? Does it do the same horizontal scrolling lines like you're seeing on your TV currently?

Have you tried to reset your Xbox 360's display settings? You can do this by following the directions
here.

Either wired or directly through Ethernet, whichever you prefer or available to you really.

If you have an original 360 you will need to buy a wireless receiver if you want to go that way, but they are built into the new S model.

I use an Ethernet but my hub is about a foot from my console so I don't need wires trailing round the house.

This can happen a couple of ways. If you've ever owned more than one Xbox then more show up. It can also happen if you download your account to another xbox to play. Possibly at a friends or something like that, causing more than one console to show up on
the account screen.

Should be some bug on the display information. You dont have warranty on the O.S. only on the console.
