  1. Console won't connect to Xbox App

Been trying to contact everyone about it and they keep either ignoring me, pretending that they don't understand, or asking me to do a whole factory reset on my console. There's no way I'm going to be doing a factory reset on my console, clearly there's something wrong other than a factory reset. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm very frustrated.

    :)

Xbox app won't connect to console.

Nothing running on that network but phones, a tablet, PS4, and the XB1. Idk, I'm stumped here.
While you have nothing else running on the network, I guess EggsBoxJuan meant that your PC has a third party firewall software running.

Maybe you recently installed an anti-virus suite like Norton, McAfee or the likes which include a network firewall that supposedly protects your PC from network attacks.

However, since your PC is behind a router, that router actually is the firewall that protects your network from internet attacks, and the firewall on your PC would only protect you from attackers that are inside your home network.

So if you did install a third party firewall application (or a security program like Antivirus, that might have a firewall included), try to disable or uninstall the security program.

Windows 10 has it's own Antivirus program and firewall.

Also, you mentioned you're getting "the same error" when you manually input the console IP.

What error message do you get?

    Hi, sorry to hear that.

I'd suggest you to power cycle the Xbox and clear the cache of the app.

When I've had this happen in the past, I've found that doing a full power cycle of the Xbox, and the device you're using the Xbox App on tends to fix the issue.

Hi. on your Xbox go to settings/ network/ network settings/ advanced settings/ alternate MAC address, select Clear and then select Restart. Then try the connection again.

Xbox app won't connect to console.

Do you have your console setting set to let the app connect with the device you wish to connect?

Are both devices signed in with the same account?
