Console will not go past sign in screen,

the xbox 360 belonged to someone else and is stuck in sign in and can't access the settings screen.

And controller will not turn on console.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Are you able to skip sign in? Is there a removable hard drive in your Xbox 360? If so, we need to test if the hard drive is corrupted in any way. Lets try removing it as a troubleshooting step. Make sure you
console is turned off and unplugged before removing the hard dive.

Turn on your console without the hard drive. Let us know the results

The network test was fine.

After I sign in my profile and click on connect to Xbox live, it shows the signing in screen and continues to sign in but doesn't and won't go past that screen.

This got me past the something went wrong error, but it's still not passing the screen where it says sign into your Xbox screen to pair the console.

To solve this issue you should apply the offline update through usb:

I was having problems with this game last week. It kept freezing and then it wouldn't go past the sign-in screen. I did a hard reset and that fixed it for a day or two. It started happening again but then I got a console update and it's been okay since
then. I think that game is just unstable.
