I'm in Alpha Skip Ahead. I signed up for it, so I know there will be more than most. However, there needs to be a notification telling me there's an update. No more pulling me completely out of a game or app like it's critical that I update that very second.

Since launch, other than the initial update, I've had 3 that I've seen. All have happened while I'm in the middle of a mission on Valhalla. Enjoying the game, greatly. Sneaking and raiding. Get about to the end. Black screen, circle. IT'S TIME TO UPDATE.

My phone doesn't cut off my calls or other apps. My laptop doesn't demand an update that very second an update is ready. My Xbox should be able to wait, online, until I am able to break from what I'm doing.

That should be fine because the Microsoft store needs to update but other than that if you want it to stop updating automatically then you'll need to go to All Settings, System, Updates, and Console, before deselecting Keep my console up to date and Keep my games & apps up to date.

Pull the HDD off of/out of the console and attach a USB Memory Unit. See if the problem stops.

For me this issue is stopped after uninstalling youtube completely shutting off the console pulling the power for a bit and restarting. It only occurs when youtube is reinstalled. XB support advises it's an issue with YouTube and can only be resolved with
a future YouTube app update. For the time being I am removing the app from the Xbox One.

I had the same issue when after doing the update, I tried to update COD. It gave me the same message. Instead of powercycling the console by holding the button down. I pull the power cord out of the back of the console. After
doing it this way, I didn't have an issue with trying to start a game or app.

Hi Dated,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issues updating console. We recommend to go through the

offline update again. In most part where you pull the troubleshoot menu up. Which is step 4. If you can get this menu up, you can try the regular soft reset. You would select reset, then reset and keep my games and apps. If that doesn't work pull menu up
again and try offline update again. Something has got corrupt while doing the update. Stopping and restarting it multiple times can corrupt the files.
