    Console update issues i think. says "update pending" when i click on console update status.


    Console has been freezing or not launching games. Restarting worked once but console froze next time i was playing. Thought it was a wifi issue but still having problems after switching to a wired conection. All network test great saying no issues with internet.
    So i went to check console update status and it says last automatic update was successful on 9/18/2020 but where it lists consoles status it says "update pending". It doesn't give me any option accept to click on "See what's new" or press B to cancel. Now
    game wont launch it just 2 hours trying to synch my game data and would still be trying to synch the data RightNow if I hadn't cancelled it.

    Cheers Genesis1953, tried that but still no luck. i have just noticed that if i go into the latest update status in settings, it says update pending, but says no update available. could this pending update cause any of these issues?

    Same happend with me I reset my console because the latest update status was showing update pending and now that issue is fixed but the downloads still dont happen :((

    guys I highly suspect a broken update. there was an update a few days ago at the beginning of the month and ever since then the xbox one's ability to hook up with live has been messed up. when I go to settings>system>latest update status it says update
    pending. which suggests a broken update. it should NOT be saying update pending.

    I downloaded the update but when it went to install the update it can't read the update

    so now every time i turn on console there is a white screen with status update that says to contact support!!

    Xbox One System Update - How do I force it?

    When you turn your console on, there should be a black box icon in the top right with the control showing a message saying "new features" or something like that.

    Click on that, and there will be an option there to check for an update. When you click this, there will be two options.

    Update control

    and

    Update Console.

    Just click console and it will force update it. I did it last night. Hope this helps.
