    Console streaming issue with controller firmware?


    Hi I originally posted this to /r/Xbox one and was recommended to post here. The issue I seem to be running across is whenever I try to set up the ability to console stream to my phone, my controller is the only thing that is errored out in the streaming requirement list. The error states "Controller firmware: Needs update. Streaming requires a specific firmware update for your controller.". I currently have the Elite series 2 controller and under the controller settings it say that the controller is up to date and that there are no updates required. I've tried hard starting my console and restarting my phone but nothing seems to work. It doesn't seem to be a bluetooth issue ether since the controller pairs fine with my phone and is check off on the console streaming requirement list. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a fix?

    When you test(on console) streaming ability, it DOES mention when it tests controller that some buttons may not work, and that a controller firmware update is on way to fix it

    Try connecting your controller, when the console is OFF, with a plug & play uSB charge cable, to see if the issue can be replicated after you turn the console back on.

    I would run the controller firmware update again, even if it reports "no update available".

    You may have to double check to see if your controllers need a firmware update. Go to Settings -> Devices & streaming -> Accessories (or open the Xbox Accessories app on your console), then see if there's a firmware update for your controller. Click on
    the three dots on the screen, and that should tell you if there's an update available.

    This sounds very frustrating.

    Have you tried power-cycling the console? Xbox button, hit RB to get to the last option, go down and hit restart.

    Do you have a second controller to try and see if it's an issue with the controller?

    Is the firmware in the controller up-to-date? Plug you controller in, go to settings, devices & streaming, accessories, click the 3 dot menu and should be the top option.
