    Console Stops Responding Nearly Completely / Captures Bug


    Unsure if it's related to console update status or not. Console is in 'beta' tier currently. If it is just a general issue (or issues) I apologize for the placement of the post.

    Having multiple issues, but may relate back to one cause, unsure arlt present. Most noticeable problem is the guide will stop responding. Like it will come up, and allow buttons to be pressed, but never actually does the action. Was trying to restart to try to fix an instance of this (temporarily anyway) earlier tonight and could not even get the restart or shut down buttons to respond. Also could not launch titles. Tried fully powering down using button on console and unplugging for a minute, which fixed temporarily but happened again within a few hours. This al makes it impossible to report issues on the system as would normally be the way to report this.

    Possibly related (or not) when trying to take a recording, occasionally it will not record and instead just freezes that function. By this I mean captures app won't launch, recent captures can't be viewed or played from guide, and the option to capture disappears fron options when guide is pulled up. This happened right before the guide and store stopped being functional or accessible (respectively) for the second time today, but could not say for sure about the first instance today or previous instances.

    Xbox Series X not uploading captures to Xbox, however takes up storage for it!?

    Update :

    I believe it’s a bug on Xbox’s end. One of my friends started having the same issue the same day mine started. ( yesterday )

    I’ve seen some people respond to this issue with sometimes Xbox holds captures so they don’t upload so they can stop potential violations in Xbox captures. ( NSFW, Harassment, etc. ) However I’m not sure if this is the case in this instance since my clip had nothing to do with any of that. Or maybe they’re holding multiple accounts just as a procedure?

    I have no clue. Just hoping it gets resolved.

    There is a Forum post here that has a potential fix in the replies.

    As far as the 1TB storage on the console, only a reserved amount is available for captures, not the whole 1TB.

    If the reserved space is full you need to clear some captures from the Internal drive or purchase a External drive, format it to NTFS and set it to the console capture location.

    I tried everything but I had to restart the game.

    Xbox one s issues after repair

    Factory reset the console for the 4th time tried to copy Hellblade from the external to the internal, It did nothing. Unplugged the drive and started to download Hellblade did 2GB and got installation stopped error the system then stopped responding completely.
    The console now only powers on and nothing else.
