Console running warm-hot much more so than before last update. Have not installed today's...

Wanted to pop in and update this thread. I spent several hours in chat with support yesterday. They ended up having me attempt to do a factory reset on the console; which did not work. The entire system stopped responding - so my hubby returned it today
in exchange for a new unit (it was only a couple weeks out the box).

The new box runs MUCH cooler than the other one, no longer hot enough to burn and is a normal warm breeze. So far, no lag and no freezing - no problems with save games either.

So usually when I play on my series s the fan makes a loudish noise....

The Series S, just like the Series X is designed to be quite, in normal gaming (even when play X|S optimised games) the Series S fan should not be audible. It should be pretty much silent.

Have you changed the location of where your console is located? These consoles get warm (hot even), this is normal. So their location is actually more important than hearing the fan spinning.

I am having the same thing, I counted 4 flashes before it shut down.

I have the new Matte Black console, I've had it for a few days now and have noticed it runs very hot, after about half n hour it's very warm to touch, after around a hour it's almost too hot to touch, I thought this might be why it's flashing before shutting
down, I even moved it to the top of the cabinet so it's out in the open but it made no difference.

Do the new ones just run hotter then my old white 60g. or is it faulty.

Mine has been running really hot had the controller sitting on top of the console was pretty hot to the touch underneath and to touch the top of the console is really how not warm... actually hot ... and this wasn't on a hot day either also i notice my power
brick makes allot of noise ... console is probably 2 months old give or take.

Haven't noticed any difference with the console besides that runs fine.
