    Console restarting at 4K splash screen using Samsung TV


    I'm just on my second Xbox One X having reported when I initially thought to be a PSU issue - the console would boot, show me the 4K "processor" splash screen and then reboot itself. Xbox Support couldn't diagnose the issue and suggested I return it for
    a repair but at under 2 months old, I thought I'd exchange at retail.

    After a day or so with the new Scorpio, it's happened again. I've disabled AnyNet+ on the TV as I thought that was a contributing factor and on the recommendation of Xbox, also plugged the machine directly into a wall socket, not the surge protector it was
    in previously. So yes, the issue remains.

    The common element however, is the Samsung TV and it's One Connect box which removes the HDMO ports from the panel and puts them into a little tethered box of tricks so users can access the I/O to the TV easily. There seems to be a time during which the
    console, when booting, is sending a signal to the TV which the TV then decides to turn it off and then back on again.

    I've found a similar post but on the Samsung support pages and wonder if there's an explanation - not from support but one from Engineering - that can help provide a set of instructions on how to avoid this.

    Xbox always had a very close working relationship with Samsung - the invention of the Game mode in fact on Samsung TVs - so I'll watch this with baited breath.

    Samsung HDMI Connection

    I have two Samsungs and theres a few tricks to try. Sometimes I'll get a No Signal screen until the dashboard loads up (which seems to take longer if I get the No Signal screen), sometimes I'll get the 360 globe splash/start-up screen. I used to have to
    turn the 360 on, select the input and then restart the 360 to get a signal on my older Samsung. My two tvs won't list the HDMI input until the 360 is on as well, I can't even see the HDMI input until the 360 is on.

    Its depends on how much room / space and budget one has,

    for an Xbox One X,

    Ideally its worth getting a 4K screen, for a TV i would say anything beyond 32", and a Monitor, anything beyond 27",

    I myself have a Samsung 50" 4K HDR TV, and a Asus 27" 4K Monitor,

    I use my TV for 4K movies and the Monitor for 4K gaming on.

    There are plenty of 4k tv's on sale right now.

    Walmart has a Samsung 50" 4k TV for for $248.

    I've always had Samsung tv's and I'm quite enjoying my 85" 4k Q90T Samsung I got 2 years ago. It runs 4k at 120hz and looks amazing.
