    Console not staying on


    we just purchased a new cord and power bank from Microsoft for our Xbox one (original Xbox one). It was dead before with the old cord but worked with my parents cord. With this new cord and power bank, the light on it goes white than orange. The power on
    the console stays in for a few seconds and then shuts off. Did we get a bad cord or is it something else?

    Power Brick Not Staying On

    I go to turn on my Xbox this afternoon and it won't turn on. I checked everything about the box, and it doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it. I look at the power supply and the light is off. I unplug it from the console and wall, then I wait as
    the troubleshooting guide suggests. I plug it into the wall and I get an orange light. I then plug in the console and the light goes off immediately. I try the steps again, but I reverse the last bit and plug the console in first then the wall, and the
    light stays on for a short bit, and then dies.

    I've gone through to try and order a replacement and for some reason Microsoft is rejecting the new card I got. I click on the link that says if you don't have internet click here hoping that I could get a support line. It then links me to post on Twitter
    or here in the forums... How is that useful for those without internet??? I'd like to order a replacement part to what is sadly a faulty product. Especially when the power brick does nothing but manage the power consumption for the box...

    After all that I just would like a number to call to talk to a person instead of getting road blocked by every crappy part of this website.

    I would recommend
    checking the solution here,     and see if that helps. There should be a light on the power supply. Can you see what color that is while it's going through its steps? That can help us identify if it's a power supply issue or a console issue.

    Support Page     your power supply may need to be changed:

    Flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:

    1. Try plugging your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.
    2. If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.
    If your power supply light is still flashing orange, solid red, or unlit, your power supply needs to be replaced. You can

    The game will continue to show up in your recently played as that's the design of the system. When you have a disc for Xbox One and want to play a game, it'll actually install the game to your hard drive, but uses the disc to authenticate "purchase" or
    "ownership" of the game. So even when you remove the disc, the instillation will remain on your hard drive.

    Is that what you're referring to as staying on your console? It would not be any indication of anything being wrong.

    Sorry to hear about the power issue. Is your console plugged into the wall outlet or plugged into a surge protector? If you have your console plugged into a surge protector, I recommend trying to plug it directly into the wall outlet.
