Console lock

Im no expert but i dont think microsoft/Xbox have that function

Sorry to hear that, You need to make sure your accounts secure ect since it is on your console so I suggest changing your password https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/microsoft-account/change-microsoft-account-password

I would also suggest contacting xbox support if the xbox is registered to your account so it can be noted I don't think they can lock it so I suggest contacting your local Police as well.https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us#0:3:3
Press xbox one >> when virtual assistant appears press see other options >> Under password and & security press recover my account >> chat with xbox support and explain that it was just to note that console was stolen to ask if they can do something.

Of course games these days have more issues but it is actually quite rare for one to be so broken that it can't be finished and enjoyed.

Even AC: Unity's issues were more hilarious than game breaking.

If you don't get these game updates could you still play the games? possibly, but with Assassins Creed there would be a very good chance it would be crashing to the desktop fairly regularly (the day one update patch notes talks about game stability), and
in the case of Halo, there would be no multiplayer.
