Console info: Shell Version??? XBOX Series X turns into Xbox One when connected to internet???

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue with your Xbox Series X console. We understand how frustrating it can be when your console does not work as expected.
According to our records, the Shell version is a system software update that is required for some features and games on the Xbox Series X. It is not related to any hacking or remote access of your console. However, it is possible that your console is having some network or compatibility issues that are causing it to display the wrong version of the game.

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest you try the following steps:



- Make sure your console is connected to a stable and secure internet connection.

You can test your network speed and performance by going to Settings > Network settings > Test network speed & statistics.


- Check if there are any pending updates for your console or your games.
You can do this by going to Settings > System > Updates & downloads.


- Reset your console to factory defaults by going to Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It resets the OS and deletes all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.
If the issue still persists, you can select Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted.

The Xbox One S is a variant of the Xbox One console. Xbox Series X/S is the newer generation of consoles. Xbox Series X/S enhanced games are only for the newest consoles not the Xbox One S. You would need to purchase the Xbox One version of the games not the X/S version of them.

The reason it's not working now could be caused by a number of reasons, such as:

The Xbox Series X may have a newer firmware version that is not compatible with the Xbox One's version.

The ethernet cable may be faulty or not properly connected.

The Xbox Series X may have been connected to the internet in the meantime, and that broke the direct connection.
