Console Companion can't find Console after update bug.

Earlier there was an issue where when I tried to start up the console it gave me an error code and said that updates needed to be completed in order to play. This was an issue that people were all talking about on the Xbox support page. Unfortunately the
console companion app is the only means I have to display the image from my Xbox so I cannot easily check for my IP address.

I'm currently traveling and have been using the console companion app to show games on my laptop screen as the place I'm staying at doesn't have a TV. Everything was going fine until the update issue happened, now the computer app and the phone app can't
find my Xbox after I have restarted them multiple times and connected the Xbox to the router through Ethernet. Is there anything I can do or should I just wait?

I didn't write down or save my console IP Address when I had the chance to try finding it manually.

What update issue are you referring to? Has your Xbox One installed the October update?

Is Windows on your laptop up to date along with the companion app? Check for Windows updates under Update & security and check for app updates from the Microsoft Store app. Click on the 3 dots at the top of the window and select Downloads and updates and
scan for updates.

If everything is up to date, make sure to turn on your Xbox One and connect it to the same subnet as your Windows 10 PC. If it’s turned on and connected to the same network, you may need to specify the IP address of the Xbox One. You
can find the Xbox One’s IP address by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, going to
System > Settings > Network >
Network settings, and then selecting Advanced settings.

Open the Xbox Console Companion app on your PC. In the navigation pane, select
Connection, enter the Xbox One IP address into the Xbox One not listed? Enter your console’s IP address box, and then select
Connect.
