    Console check wont work


    I bought a brand new Xbox 360 S about 6 years ago and have hardly used it and want to know its spec so I can sell it, I have repeatedly tried the Console Check but all it comes up with is "unable to detect the state of this serial number of this device at
    this time please connect to xbox live", I have tested it to destruction and its definitely connected to XBox live. I'm fed up with this now:

    1. Is there a solution?

    2. If not does anybody want it for free

    3. If not its going in the bin

    Hi Adrian,

    Thanks for reaching out to us in forums with this question. In relation to the specifications for the 360 consoles, there's a list of them and the accessories related to them on our support article entitled Xbox
    360 manuals and specifications    . It has all the info you need on PDF and if you wish to no longer use the console, you may find a friend/family member who may benefit from it as a streaming device, etc, or sell it as well! There's still a great market out
    there for used consoles. Regarding the state of the serial number for servicing, I can let you know that Microsoft/Xbox no longer services the 360 consoles; however, you can try locating a 3rd party repair place to you locally if you wish.

    Nice idea but it wont work.

    It wont work because without online checks it can't tell if disc is already registed to someone else.

    The disc can only be rendered unusable if there is a 24 hour DRM check. Without DRM checks the disc can't be rendered unusable.

    The discs are Read only. For this to work without DRM checks the console would need a Blu Ray burner drive to write data to the discs. This would make the console far more expensive.

    Hi,

    I hope this helps. Please try to reset your console but wont remove your games and game saves. To do it, go to Setting-System-Console Info-Reset-Reset and keep games and apps.

    If the steps wont work, contact XBOX support to check the status of your Xbox game pass membership.

    If console is enrolled in the Xbox Insiders preview, don't do an offline update. It wont work.

    Check your network access. May need to power cycle your network hardware.
