Console cheats are making games unplayable

It's all very well saying they should do more but what can they do? How much money should they allocate to keeping on top of this?

You only have to look to the movie industry to see how it is a losing battle....they spend $ tens of millions yearly trying to combat piracy and yet it is no better than it was as any security brought in is hacked within days if not hours.

Take any one of those you mentioned....MS spend money and manhours writing software to stop it working and within hours or days those producing them will have dissected the code and updated their own code to get around it....so MS starts again..and so on

there has been game cheats since the very first game all those decades ago, ok for offline but not ok online. but as with all tech, there is no way to stop it fully. one thing you will have to get used to is players using KnM as more and more games will support that on console, and as the series x can finally hit higher framerates in some games this also gives them an edge over the standard xbox one.

A standard KBM is a lot better to go up against than a KBM with AA benefits, which you get from ximm. And also much better to go against than weapons with boosted AA, 0 recoil and auto locking. These cheats are easer to obtain now and far more rampant in games than they have ever been, and i been playing xbox online since it first came out. The issue is, its hard to detect the devices i mentioned because they simulate your controller. but they could go after the devices/manufactures themselves. Or use that big microsoft money to develop better detecting software, i mean do these tiny companies really have smarter people and more resources than microsoft? lol. I think its to the point now, so many use them, they are afraid to ban because of the massive player drop.

Well this is a bit different, each of the brands that make the products that allow for the cheats are bought and sold in places like wal-mart right next to official xbox hardware. Despite the fact they allow you to go online and download cheat scripts to them. Which then lets you hack the game pretty much the same way they do on PC. They could start by simply going after the manufactures of the brands. If a product is doing something that can ruin the reputation, hurt income or modify another product in those ways, actions can be taken.

Yeah, I was using the movie industry purely as an example of how difficult it is to combat cheats and their products...look at websites for pirate copies and, despite these websites etc being taken to court, it makes no difference as the owners simply change the web address etc.

It does surprise me that cheat devices like that are sold in Walmart though...then again it's not surprising if the demand is there. My guess is those at the top of Microsoft look at the amount of money it would cost to take all these manufacturers to court vs the damage being done to MS and decide it's not worth it...after all, how many of these originate in countries where legal action would do little

I don't play online games that would allow the advantage of that sort of thing but I do understand how annoying it would be
