Console boots without working network into wired mode

Based on the description, when setting your device for remote play and connected with the storage expansion pack, the console will change to offline mode after restarting. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. When you set up your Storage Expansion card the first time, were you been asked if you plan to use the card primarily with that specific console or intend to use the card with multiple console?

• Choosing to use the card primarily on a specific console enables the card to check for updates automatically.
  
• Choosing to use the card on multiple consoles disables the card’s ability to automatically update your games and apps. However, you can still manually update the games from My games & apps.
  

2. What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far to help resolve the issue?

3. Have you tried connecting your Xbox console through wired connection to see if the same situation will occur?



Here's a few things to try:

1. Hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button on the front of the Xbox for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds let go of the power button then restart the Xbox.

2. Power cycle your network by unplugging the power to the modem & router for about 60 seconds. Then plug your router back in and try your game again.

Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear > let the Xbox Restart

I just had this too. I have 2 xbox slims and one worked and one didn't. I rebooted my router and still had 1 slow boot xbox and the other booted just fine.

Once it finally booted I looked at the network connection and on the one with the slow boot had an "Alternate MAC Address" and the one that worked had "Not set" for alternate MAC address.

So on my slow boot system, I did this:

in System Settings-->, Network Settings-->, Wired Network (I have a wired connection)-->, Configure Network-->, Additional Settings tab-->, 2nd box down-->, I changed Alternate MAC Address to "Not Set"

Works perfectly now. So the slim must be looking for the network before it boots. With that MAC Address set wrong it was taking a long time to get to the network. And sometime it wouldn't even connect to Live.

I remember a few weeks ago I connected to a hotel wired connection and was futzing around with the network settings. I got on the hotel network, but I guess I forgot to reset the network settings. Lesson learned. Hope this helps someone else out there.

Booting to TV only works if the console is in Instant On mode (as opposed to low power mode). Is it possible that's the issue?

I've encountered the same issue, try disconnecting your network then power cycle the console. When you turn the console back on try using a wired connection for the first boot.
