Console Ban - parent inquiry/concern

My son's xbox console is currently banned until January 2018 and I am inquiring on what needs to be done to have this lifted. We were told that the ban was put in place due to prior bans and behavior, however, the prior bans are from his friends thinking
they are "funny" and submitting multiple complaints in order to get him banned for a week here and there. We did not realize that by not disputing these previous bans that it could lead to a console ban - and I directed him to not dispute them thinking that
the kids were just being idiots and it just wasn't worth it since it would be his word against theirs. We have also noticed that the two harassment bans were placed on his account days after he was already banned for communication (from his friends being
idiots) - clearly there was no way he was online harassing people if he couldn't even talk to them. We monitor his xbox usage and I know that there has been nothing that would warrant this type of enforcement (if he behaved in this manner I would take the
xbox altogether and sell it) - What are the steps to dispute the console ban and resolve this issue?

The PET can throw the hundreds of people posting on these forums and I a bone and tell us why we were unjustly banned.

It's unacceptable to say "sorry, console ban, nothing you can do but continue to buy our product and hope it doesn't happen again."

I do appreciate your suggestions, though. Much more helpful than those who preach of cold, hard evidence, even in spite of it not being presented to those accused of modifying their console.

But I haven't done anything wrong. I'm polite to players, have never engaged in a modded or hacked lobby in a game, or performed any software or hardware modifications on my console.

The beta I participated it (that was officially performed by Microsoft) is the only reason I can think of as to why my console would be banned. If that is, in fact, the case, then Microsoft is performing multiple counts of fraud.

 

Console bans are not eligible for case reviews. All you can do is wait it out. You can have a million complaints filed against you, but the enforcement team will only issue a suspension/ban if they determine you have done something to violate the code of
conduct. Investigations do take time, so the other suspensions would not have been issued the same day the actions took place. They would have taken place weeks before.

 

Thank you for the response! Even the representative that I chatted with earlier was on my side for this - its absolutely ridiculous that kids being idiots and making false claims can cause a console ban and there is no recourse. Surely doesn't make me
want to run out to buy another console when its time to upgrade ... sounds like time to switch to PS!

 

Investigations take time. Each report is investigated before an enforcement action is taken.

The date/time an enforcement action is applied is after the investigation.

Xbox does not advise you of who made the report or when it was made.

You are not given specifics partly to ensure the privacy and safety of the person making the report.
