Wireless Strength is 93%. Ping is 60. Upload and download speeds are good. Packet loss 0. Why am I still getting lag spikes. My Xbox has been in the same spot since day one and it has suddenly started. No new consoles. No different headset. Don't give me
a link to forums. Already tried that. Don't tell me to restart wifi. Already tried that. Don't tell me to hard reset my console. Already tried that. My NAT type is open. Answers please.

Connection lost

I'm guessing your playing Advanced Warfare? Sure it doesn't say "Connection to the host has been lost" which means, obviously, that you can no longer connect to the games host? I'm pretty sure the reason it will kick you from games is because you have an overly high ping (in excess of 200ms I think). Try looking for games hosted in your local area, because from the sound of it you and your friend are joining games that are being hosted by players in other states/countries, which will have an impact on your connection and occasionally have you kicked. Happens to me all the time on BF and CSGO

 

How to connect to Xbox Live in X1

There is no button or menu to connect!

The system is not connected, I do a network test and it passes, but still is not connected... I can't do anything with the X1 if it's not connected to live!

Is there a way to manually connect to Xbox live in this console?

 

Be aware that lag is not caused by your own connection. If you are in a multiplayer match, other players with a slow connection can cause your game to lag as well, as every console needs to have the same information eventually about player positions and
actions they are doing.

If a player with a slow connection can't keep up, and your console is expecting data from that slow player, your console can also lag, as it doesn't have a consistent set of player information.

From what you described, you already did everything you can do to set up your home network correctly.

Also keep in mind, that while your Wireless strength was great when you checked it, that temporary outside factors can disturb your WiFi signal.

For example your WiFi is great most of the time, but then someone decides it's time for Nachos with cheese, and puts some into a Microwave.

Microwaves unfortunately emit a frequency that can mess with WiFi signals.

Or maybe a neighbor with a baby monitor has the wireless baby monitor turned off most of the time, and your WiFi is fine, but when it gets time for the kids to go to bed, and they turn it on, it could broadcast on the same wireless frequency as WiFi, disrupting
your signal whenever the baby makes a noise.

Therefore it's always advisable, that if you need absolute peak performance, you should change to a wired network.

Think of WiFi as your daily driver car. It's great for getting to the supermarket and running all your everyday errands like getting the mail from the post office and such.

But you won't want to compete in a Formula One race with your family car. That's what an Ethernet connection is for.

Sure, you can't have the convenience of driving over the supermarket parking lot's speed bumps with a Formula One car. But since you don't move your console around like a tablet or laptop, I still recommend using a wired connection.
