Connection. What is you ping??

I don't want to start the bad connection complaint thread.

Im in Alaska which means I'm very far from the servers. My ping in 74ms according to the Titan main screen. During a game the players with all their bars filled seem to have the top scores.

only a few times in game did I think I was shooting first and didn't get the kill.

what system do you have? do you have a WIRELESS connection? is your wired connection pluged in?

 

constantly kicked off xbox live randomly

What kind of connection speeds do you get.
http://speedtest.net ? What type of connection are you using (Satilite, cable, DSL etc)? Who is your ISP? What is the make and model of your router? Does trying a direct to modem connection help?

 

I think it's how fast your online gameplay is pick the lowest available

 

My thread should ask what is your ping? It's hard to post from a iPhone.

I'm picking the lowest ping it's the west coast one. I'm curious if you live closer what your ping is.

 

35ms for east coast for me.

 

also, I noticed going from wifi to wired dropped it down further. For example, 313ms wireless goes to 100ms on wired. although 2 different carriers.

Yes, Australians got rammed up the rear on this with absolutely no local Data server support.

Anything over 50 ms and I will probably go back to COD. Anything over 75 ms and I will release the rage of 1000 Minotaurs. I assume people will have better connections when the actual game releases.

No. This is 100% reliant on localised Microsoft Data Centre access and some countries simply will not have that at launch.

Australia/New Zealand down under, South Africa and a few other nations do NOT have Microsoft data centres as yet and it's clearly impacting gameplay.

For anyone that doubts that statement, change your data centre in the beta to anything over 200 ping and try playing this game with the locals to that data centre.

The game is almost unplayable.

Australians 'best' ping from east cost is to US West. We get 2 bars connectivity there whilst the US locals are full - we get creamed. It's not even a contest. It's not fun. It's a frustrating mess.

The 'best' we get right now is connecting to SE Asia where we get on average 1 or 2 bars (or 3 if you live in Western Australia) and the ONLY saving grace is that because Titanfall / Xbox isn't happening in that region of the world, the games are largely
dominated by other Australians.

So we get the good grace of all playing on an equally garbage connection on a server outside of the country.

It's 'playable', but very far from ideal and the worst thing is that neither Microsoft, Respawn or EA will step up and update the playerbase down under on what the hell is happening with our local data centre situation.

We know it's coming, but it's not likely to be here day one for Titanfall unless sales down under crash to earth with a thud.

Fact is, unless you're a US based Xbox gamer, Microsoft doesn't really give a damn about you and your enjoyment of their products - then they have the audacity to wonder why they are struggling to compete with their main rival in international locations.

I'm all for the Microsoft Azure service vision, but it's pointless to push out a platform that's reliant on that technology if you don't have locally sourced data centres to begin with and worse - deny those localities the option to use alternatives.

Titanfall is the biggest FPS for the platform since friggen Halo and it's a complete travesty that Microsoft is ignoring the fact lag is killing this game outside of the US environment right now.

 

@aussie - I feel for you man. I'm sure you are a little more accustomed to lag than me, but anything over 50ms and I start raging. I have 2 internet providers in my house so the old lady doesn't slow me down with netflix and what ever she does on her
laptop. I'm also lucky enough to live in a Major city in the US. Hopefully with all the sales they get from Titanfall they can get on this right away. The bigger and better the gaming community gets, the better it is for everyone.

@ OP - My ping is 15-16 right now.

 

I have to say I'm very pleased with my ping here in Hong Kong, which averages 16-18ms due to the data center being located here. A far cry from the 200+ms I get playing most BF4/COD games. The ping alone has made this game a must have for me.

That said, I do feel for those in Auzzie, as like I said, Im used to really crappy pings and it really impacts my ability to have a decent match.(im typically .25 k/d or less in both of those games, though I do get good matches from time to time where I
am not behind by about a quarter of a second)

 

I'm in Sydney and the whole thing is a travesty. Have not once had more than 1 connection bar and never under 200 ping (230ish was the lowest). Once the data centre is up it should be sweet, but in the meantime we have to suffer with an inferior product
or miss out entirely.

The respawn forums have gone nuts, with people talking about cancelling pre-orders. I just hope this is getting back to microsoft.

 

I didnt check my Ping number last night, but I was definately connected well as it played smooth and all my bars were full (4 or 5).
