Connection to any streaming application on Xbox

Hi Everyone,

I'm just asking is there a way to connect my Xbox to a steaming service but use my Windows surface as a webcam & Mic, I know I can use it in a party but when I try to use to stream it doesn't work or to be honest I don't have a clue how to do it if there
a solution like that. I'm a newbie to all this streaming stuff but I know I be good it lol so please help thanks for reading

Hi there,

The only streaming services on the Xbox is Mixer and Twitch but the Twitch app is only limited to using the Kinect as a webcam and mic because Twitch hasn't seemed to update the app.

On Mixer you can connect a webcam through USB and the Camera option will be selectable in the "Broadcast & capture" tab in the menu found under Advanced Settings. As far as the Microphone goes, I think it should work and be detected as you say that it works
for party chats and most streamers use their headset mic's but give it a try in the advanced settings on Mixer and let us know if it works.

Hi XBF, so I definitely need a webcam ?. I can't use my my windows surface pro for this right ?. If I can't then I'll buy one with a mic and let the community know if it works. Thanks for your reply 😊✌

Hello,

No, connecting your iPhone to the Xbox 360 will only allow it to charge it's battery.

If you wish to stream music from your iPhone to the Xbox 360 you'll need to get an application on your iPhone such as "sync:stream" (among other applications).

Thank you both. I lost the track of every Xbox - streaming realted application and their menus. I had Xbox, Xbox Streaming Test App and Xbox Console Companion and I used each one of them for streaming in the previous years so I miss the icons. Do you know if there is any settings about streaming quality / bitrate?
