my Xbox 1 says that I am connected to my wifi, but it does not let me go onto Xbox live or use any of my games that are downloaded, including free ones like World of Tanks and Netflix

Xbox One won't play games

As I said, the hitting the bottom is not recommended practice. That said, it's been proven to work with issues such as this. This obviously isn't a common issue therefore common practice probably won't resolve it.

Have to powercycle modem to connect to live

Using whatever the default power mode is. When I turn it on it says I'm connected to live but can't connect to EA sever, only play nhl so not sure if this is an EA issue. I get multiple connection errors if I was to run a network connection test before
I powercycle the modem. Can't connect to network problem with your isp is the most common but also get "DCHP error" and "everything is good but there's some issues on our end". It's obviously not and isp issue everything else works fine except the Xbox One.
This happened on both Nhl 15 and 16

It's a common issue at the moment it seems, if you are using a wireless connection could you possibly try a wired connection at all to see if that helps. There are a whole heap of threads on the forum about this issue.

This sounds like a problem on EAs end - maybe there's a problem connecting to their servers? Have you checked a FIFA 20 forum to see if this is a common issue?

This was also a common issue on the original Xbox One as well, and there is no definitive solution either (besides using ethernet, obviously). Very odd indeed.
