    Hi, no it's not possible, as most laptops have a hdmi out connection, not an hdmi in connection. The only way you can use a laptop as a monitor is to use Windows 10 Xbox app and stream the xbox one to Windows 10 via that method. As you say you have Windows
    7, so you cannot do it anyway.

    Are you attempting to connect an xBox console or a controller?

    If a console then it isn’t possible unless you have a HDMI in connection either on the laptop or a monitor - on a laptop the HDMI is just for connecting to an external monitor.

    To connect a controller then connect either via Bluetooth or plug if wired plug in to a USB socket.

    Your laptop's HDMI port is for output only. It's designed to allow you to connect your laptop to a second screen such a monitor or TV

    You can't connect a console to it via HDMI.
