    Hello.

    I want to connect wired headphones or headset to the new XBox controller via the 3.5mm jack, but I want to use the controller via Bluetooth and still hear audio in the headphones.

    • I have a new XBox wireless controller for X|S connected to a Windows-10 PC.
    • I do not have a Microsoft XBox dongle.
    • The controller connects to the PC via Bluetooth. There is no problem.
    • I can use Bluetooth headphones connected via Bluetooth to the PC. There is no problem.
    If I connect the XBox controller to the PC via USB cable, I can plug in my wired (not Bluetooth) headphones to the controller and the PC recognizes it the same way as if I connected the wired headphones to the audio jack on the PC.

    When I remove the USB cable to the controller, I no longer have audio, but the controller still works with Bluetooth.

    I want the controller to connect via Bluetooth and use a wired headset to the controller.

    Can someone help or at least explain?

    Some extra information may be needed for people to decide where the issue lay:

    - What headset is it? How is it connected: Wired directly into the Xbox, wireless or wired into the controller (if controller, do you use an Audio Adapter)

    - What Xbox is it?

    - Have there been any console updates, controller updates etc?

    - If you have a PC, you could try connecting the headset to that to see if there's any headset updaes

    If the headset is only a Bluetooth headset, then it cannot be connected to the Xbox, as the console does not support Bluetooth. However, you can connect a wired headset to the controller via 3.5 mm audio jack. If the headset can be connected that way, then you will have to connect via the wire.

    The headset in question is a Tritton Kama with a 3.5mm plug.

    the headset is brand new and marked as xbox compatible.

    I cannot get the headset to work with any of my two original wireless controllers that accepts 3.5mm without an adapter.

    When I try a wired aftermarket controller, @play, it works flawless. Headset is recognized as soon it is connected.

    I then tried my wireless controllers and wire connected them to the xbox and then connected the headset. Did not solve the problem.

    Is the headset wired or wireless? If the headset is wired, it could be an issue with the cable connecting the headset to the controller.

    Is there a way to get audio through the controller without using Bluetooth for the series X controller on a Samsung TV?

    I believe that Xbox controllers only transmit and receive audio through the Xbox wireless signal and not via Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth to connect the controller, you need to use a different method for audio. Wired controllers and controllers connected with the Microsoft wireless dongle can use the headphone jack for audio.
