Connecting to dedicated server

on dedicated servers, but in the event that players cannot connect to a dedicated server, the lobby will stay together and the match will still occur on a peer-to-peer connection. Please be aware that you may connect to the dedicated server quickly enough
that you won’t see the ‘connecting to dedicated server’ dialog. The absence of that dialog doesn’t mean that you’re not playing on a dedicated server."

At the end of the day, I don't believe that a Listen Server is ever better than a Dedicated Server. 7+ gaming on the 360 have clearly proven that.

Dedicated servers are just that "dedicated" While Listen servers are crappy home connections, with other people in those households using their ipods and laptops all on that same Listen Server Internet connection running on poor WiFi signals.

Side by side... a dedicated connection wins every time.

Infinity Ward is just using this as an excuse to save a buck.

Dedicated servers will most likely fix the NAT problem that some ran into on XBL. Without dedicated servers you are P2P (Peer2Peer) NOW you will be connecting to Microsofts servers instead of connecting to someones IP.

I'm running a non dedicated server from my computer and it's not ARK that's giving me the issue it's the app. I can connect to other games that are hosted from on dedicated servers but am unable to connect to instances created by friends and vice versa
