    Connecting to a P2P network


    Hi I need to talk to a microsoft agent, the reaolution i was given for a closed request relating to connecting to a P2P network is not viable (static ip and port forward - it is not viable because i dont own the router its a public setup) The call me back feature isnt working! I have a new xbox series x that i cannot connect to the internet with!

    My old Xbox One X was connected to the same P2P network, but my new console wont connect to the same network. I had this issue when i got the one x for the first time but someone at microsoft resolved it for me. There is a solution there somewhere but i just dont recall what it is.

    failing further suggestions from the ambassadors i really do need assistance from Microsft on this.

    Connection problems

    If you play p2p games and your router has something like DDOS Protection it sometimes thinks your xbox get DDOSED because of the p2p connection.

    Try to disable your routers DDOS connection an be sure you run the latest Firmware for your router.

    If you can't connect to servers I would try to use a different DNS Server.

    In network settings of your xbox you can use google DNS Servers:

    8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    I'm pretty sure it has a matchmaking server tho, and then the connections all join up using P2P as the maps are server side but the actual game play is P2P.

    Like I said earlier, P2P is great if you have a wicked @@@ connection. I happened to have a fiber optics connection so take a guess as to whether or not I like a P2P connection? lol I get to be host often and that's when the good times roll....

    Unfortunately the only thing that you can do is talk with the IT department in your school and ask them if it's possible to change the firewall rules

    BO2 is still and will remain P2P servers. Ghosts will have dedis on the Xbox One, but it will be P2P on the 360. That recent update which killed everyone elses connections, seems to have helped you out, LOL.
