Connecting 4 "Wired" Controllers to Xbox 360

Is there a way I can connect 4 "wired" controllers to my Xbox 360 MW3 addition?

Hey there .

Have you tried plugging the controllers into different USB ports on your Xbox 360 S to see if there is any change in connection? They shouldn't both be connecting to Play 1, be sure they're signed into different profiles when connecting to Xbox Live.

Yes I tried various ports and I also tried to connect in various orders such as Player 1 (P1) - Wired Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and Signed In, P2 = Wireless Xbox 360 Controller and Signed In but when connecting the third one for P3 - Wired Xbox 360
Controller for Windows it assigns as P1 and takes control away from the first assigned controller.

I should mention I have them all "connected", but 3 of them are showing up as the #2 controller.

With so many posts about the same issue I don't think anyone can claim it is "remote" or "unusual." Hopefully Microsoft will help us resolve this issue.

I recently tried the corrective action suggested in the Announcement thread here -

This is intended, unlike the xbox 360 this controller is changing from a wireless connection to a wired connection.

Just to be sure the controllers are Xbox 360 controllers, and not Xbox One controllers? Both controllers can connect to the PC, but do not connect to the other consoles. So make sure you have the correct controller for the 360.

With the Xbox 360 controller, it only sent data wirelessly. The charging cable was only used to charge rechargeable batteries on the controller, and does not send data over the wire for the controller. You would need the Xbox 360 wireless controller
adapter (usb dongle) to connect. If the 360 controller was wired natively then that would work, but the default controllers only worked wirelessly.

That's your problem, right there. Unfortunately, if you connect your wireless Xbox 360 controller with a charging cable, all your doing is charging the controller.

The 360 wireless controller can't be turned into a wired controller with the charging cable as neither the controller or the wire were designed to send data this way.

You either need 360 wired controller or an Xbox One controller. Xbox One controllers can use wired or wireless, but wireless is only supported via Windows 10.
