Connecting 2 Xboxs

I'm posting this on behalf of my children. I feel like I should be able to figure this out, and it's probably been asked a million times, but I know nothing about this stuff.

So here goes. We've had an Xbox one (console #1) for a few years. This was the main Xbox, has games downloaded and was used by both of my boys. They both played (not at the same time) with the same gamer tag with a gold account (i think we have game pass
ultimate now). We got another Xbox one (console #2). How can we set them up so console #2 can go online and play games and also access the games on console #1? Also, the user of console #2 has a profile on NBA2K on console #1 under the live gamer tag that
he's put quite a bit of money into. Is there a way to transfer that profile once we get the online sharing to work? He has his own gamer tag but I'm not sure if it was created from the main one with live or if he just did it to play games offline.

Basically I need a set up guide for dummy's...Please help!

I have been able to successfully connect 2 xboxs to xbox live simultaneously and play Modern Warfare 3 simultaneously. I received the same connection error when trying to invite player 2 on xbox 2 to the game player 1 on xbox 1 was on. After the invite
was successfuly sent, xbox 2 was signed out of xbox live and was not able to connect to approximately 10 minutes.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about how to configure two console to use the same games and be able to play games online.

As Xbox Forums Ambassador PalmettoBling has already taken the liberty of describing this, I will merely be elaborating on this subject.

Firstly, there is no way to transfer save data on one account to another at this time. In other words, any game that you want to play, that you are not playing on the account you first launched it with will require you to start a new game.

What you are seeking to do is
Designate a Home Xbox. This will allow you to share not just any digital games you purchased on your account, but any Xbox subscription you currently have across another console.

There is a downfall to this. Console one, which has your original account on it, will always need to be connected to Xbox Live [internet] in order to play any of your digital games. On console one, you will be unable to play any of your games offline if
you do not own a physical copy of the title.

Ideally, the way it would be configured is you would need to
add the account that owns all the digital games and has the subscription to console two, and then configure it as the Home Xbox of that profile so that you can install and launch the games you own.

This can be done by following these simple steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.
Do either of the following:
- Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.
- Select Remove this as my home Xbox to remove the designation.

Again, make sure you are signed into the correct profile when doing this.

So to be able to play both consoles at the same time, you'll need a second profile. With that the NBA 2k profile will stay on that Xbox Live profile, there is no way around that. The second profile is going to have to start fresh on game saves and what
not. But what you can do is maintain Xbox Live Ultimate on the first profile and set it as the Home Console on Console # 2, then have that first profile play on console #1. That way, the second profile will still have access to all the games and features
(Xbox Live and Game Pass) as the first profile, without having to purchase them on their own, since they are on the first profile's Home Console. Then as long as the first profile is actively signed in on the non-Home Console they will still have access to
the features and games they own and have.

It can be a bit complicated, but so let me know if you have any questions about what I've covered.
