    Hi, I understand that this is possible and that the second controller plugs into the USB port at the rear of the box however... when attempting to do so, the second controller is not being identified.

    So how do I get the xbox to see the second controller?

    No, it's not possible to use an Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S controller on an Xbox 360 even connected with a wire.

    Switch your console off, connect your controller and then switch the console back on.

    Had the same problem with mine and that was a work around to get the console to recognise the controller.
