Connect with friends on xbox - settings?

Check the status of your connection if NAT is open. Remembering that the connection to the internet cable on the console yields much better.

I would take a look at the Privacy and Online Safety Settings for your child's account. If your
child's account is added to your Microsoft Account's family, and your account is recognized as an adult, if you go to the Privacy and Online Safety Settings online, you can manage the account choices from there. After you make changes, the child account will
have to sign out and back into the console for them to take effect.

My son are not able to connect to friends since I updayed his account. Must have done something wrong with settings?

Just use a default setting to pop it back to normal

Are you both connected to the same network?

There could be a NAT type incompatibility that is preventing you from effectively connecting to your sons game or party.

You can check your current NAT type by following these steps:

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.

On the Network settings screen, in the center column under
Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

Your NAT type, combined with the NAT type of other players, determines whether you can successfully use multiplayer gaming or party chat.

If you have anything other than an "Open" NAT type, I would recommend you take a look at the

Xbox One Multiplayer Game Solution wizard and see if the troubleshooting steps there work for you.

Also, is he having trouble connecting with friends in Minecraft?
If so, they do have a Service Alert for Minecraft, without a lot of details, so it might be related.
