@Rastafarian204.I am not trying start the whole IW v Dice thing,My comparison was merely stating that these are really the only two military FPS's that are coming out round this time.They each have there own fans and i agree are totally different games,but
to me COD MP has become very stale and tedious.The new one looks very much the same so far,which is fine if thats what you enjoy,its not for me though.As i have said in the past,i do like COD campaigns and i will more than likely rent MW3 for its campaign,i
just won't touch the MP.I also agree that the Beta could have been alot better,I actually like it even with its problems,I am saying the final game is'nt gonna be like this from what i have read and i don't think the entire game should be judged on this one
buggy Beta map,Imo the game will be the best FPS we have seen yet on 360.Do you really believe they would put it out in its current condition?

The beta is already stable for online play. There are a few bugs but most are fixed for the final version. I agree that they released it a bit too late but they can mix a majority of the bugs via Day 1 patch and handle the rest with a server patch. But you
have to keep in mind that this is a "open beta", meaning it's available to the public. We are their guinea pigs to test their game for free. I'm sure there a lot of internal tests before and during the beta.

Why would you expect a demo out of a beta? Were you expecting something along the lines of...

You're two first points contradict themselves. They DID release a alpha/beta build that WILL lose them sells. The Beta version of a game comes out months upon months before release... See Halo, Gears of War and other games. A Beta is around 3-6 months prior
to a game's release. I literally have no idea why they released this "beta" other than to get sales from the Call of Duty crowd (Every excuse DICE has used for how horrible this Beta runs has been debunked)

The past Demo's for Battlefield were great. The past Beta's for other games have been great, or at least STABLE where you could play them and not drop connection every 10 minutes. I've NEVER played a Beta with as bad of bugs/connection issues as this one...
And it's not even running the full game engine itself. So much has been dropped to give us this "beta" that the final build is going to be massively different. Not to mention the destructibility and vehicles are all but non-existent in the map we have to "test".

This was quite possibly the biggest mistake DICE could have made. It has turned off at least 20-30 gamers that I know from a day one purchase. Might as well wait until Christmas/2012 to get the game without server issues and bugs. 20-30 people, not to mention
all of their friends and the people they know and who they've shown the game too. Easily, over 1,000 dollars of profit had went straight out the window. And this is coming from people who understand what a Beta is and that this isn't the final version of the
game. Who knows how many thousands of others who think this is what the final game will be have cancelled their preorders and will not be buying the game.

Huge, HUGE mistake on DICE's part. I can only hope they learn from this massive mishandling of the Battlefield franchise for console gamers. I've heard that the PC beta is AMAZING. Basically, DICE is giving the big ol' middle finger to console gamers with
this sad excuse of a beta. It's definitely an alpha build or something around the near beginning of development of the console port. It's awful. Even when the game traffic is way down in the wee hours of the morning, I STILL get dropped every 5 minutes. Pathetic.
POSSIBLY a Christmas purchase, but other than that RAGE and Elder Scrolls: Skyrim are going to be my games of choice for the Fall. Battlefield, even though I've been a huge fan of the game series since Battlefield: Modern Combat on the PS2, will be taking
back seat to my other games. It's just too horrible of an experience with this alpha/beta to warrant a purchase on day one.

Don’t waste your time trying to explain logic to the BF3 fan boys. While the beta is not the worst thing ever, no one in the right mind would say it is up to par or ready for the public. Let’s look at some of the excuses fan boys are giving

1. It is really old code: If this is the case what are we testing or looking for?

2. It is Microsoft and Sony’s fault; they had the code for months: This is total BS, as can be seen in past examples. One such is the Ubisoft Ruse demo; it was late to Xbox because they did not have the code to Microsoft the week before. That is a one week
turnaround time

3. It is the fans fault, it is not Dice/EA fault that fans created hype for the game: I guess I took all those ads talking about the great advancements of the frostbite 2 engine the wrong way

While I will probably buy the game, this beta (really a demo this short before release) process has been a marketing nightmare and nothing you tell the hard core fans will convince them of this.

I just played the beta and I will not be buying or renting battlefield 3. That was the most awful video game experience I have had in awhile.
