Concerning conflict between XBOX gamepass and steam with regards to Sea of Thieves

Today I come with a more peculiar issue, which might be the nightmare of many Sea of Thieves steam players that got the gamepass. Given the fact that the microsoft account is linked to steam, this brings many questions without an answer with regards to a few scenarios that can happen.

In the case of Sea of Thieves, Microsoft generates the Xbl_Ticket token which is used by the game.
The issue is that it doesn't generate it based on the platform that launches the game. The preferred platform seems to be XBOX. When you get the game through XBOX gamepass (even when you didn't wish for), it would generate the token based on it, leading Steam to the annoying Lavenderbeard error.

The person having this issue gave up on trying to ask for support and explain what they found out.
But it's different for me as I believe that it's something that can be fixed/improved.

Unlinking steam from the XBOX account and making a new XBOX account to link steam to, proves that the game works again on steam. The is still an issue at hand, and that's that all the progress is linked to XBOX. Therefore this is not a solution.

Is this an issue that XBOX PC is aware of and if yes, are there any plans for fixing it?

Thank you guys for your feedbacks. This came like recently to happen, in the last few months. I don't know if you guys logged out from your accounts lately or what not. It's something that didn't use to be a problem either. I even had the issue, but as everyone else with the Lavenderbeard issue, it was enough to do one of the troubleshooting steps to fix it.

We've been trying to contact Steam about it, they said that it's not on their end. We went to Sea of thieves and had the same redirection toward Microsoft. Everyone sends the ball in a different camp.

The best would be for me to do the following scenario.

Have Steam linked in the Microsoft account.

Remove all the credentials and tokens and try to log in through Steam into the game once more.

If she get the Lavenderbeard issue as before, she could go and launch right away the XBOX gamepass game. (she doesn't have bought the game on PC XBOX games)

If when the game starts, it puts her back in as logged, it confirms what the issue is.

From there to who to contact about it, is still an issue. Does really Sea of Thieves handle the authentication or is the XBOX API? How much control there's over the API for the game programmers and why would that be an issue in the first place?

I never developed games for XBOX, so I cannot answer any of these questions. I can understand the most of the people don't enter those kind of edge case cases. It might be a 1 in 1000 or who knows.
Usually people get the game once in a way or another and after that they don't intend to acquire it in other ways.

i own sea of thieves on windows store and also a copy on steam, i also have ultimate, no issues with either and all work flawlessly.

Your Sea of Thieves Account is Connected so it will be same on all platforms. So if you buy something on Steam for SoT it would be on the Microsoft Edition and on Xbox.
