The support for xbox on PC is the worst, why is it that companies must be sued before they do the right thing?

I have a new laptop, 2 months old, all updated, I have a online PC windows 10 pro OS and a msn account.

It is connected to a docking station, which works with no issues at anytime but when Im on xbox games. Play many games no issues with my hardware, or the settings in my system when docked.

I open xbox, shows my account with the standard home page for my user.

shows the games I play on xbox.

I select age of empires, a downloaded game that I had to spend money on.

the game loads goes through its whole set up I select a single player game, it loads up starts to play and about five minutes in my pc kicks up to high power I hear it really working, after a few more minutes the game locks and then my screens go down on
my docking station and the computer goes into a mode that makes me open the laptop and then press the start button to turn back on. I do that, xbox says not connected to the cloud can not play multi player games, which I never was, I check the connection on
the home screen in xbox, it says add a console ip address? there is no support help on the xbox, so I cant find the ip address. I am wired into this laptop, not wireless. Sucks that I pay for a game and cant get any support from it.

    :)

i think production units we will be getting will be close to the Slim and E versions. and the low power state is just that it. the Xbox is going dormant and only essential functions are being used like when you put your computer in sleep mode its still running
    just a low power mode.

  3. Charging Station for 4 XBOX One Wireless Controllers?

Forgot to mention, I have mine plugged into the Xbox one, you can also use your computer to charge up, if you put your computer in sleep mode instead of using shutdown it will still charge and no need for the computer to be turned on.

computer keeps going into sleep mode

From your description, I guess the following happens:

Games are really taxing on the hardware. While working with normal office programs, the processor is mostly idling around. But with games, your graphics card has to render complex 3D scenes over 60 times per second, and the processor has to constantly calculate
what the NPCs artificial intelligence is supposed to do next.

This processing power produces more heat than if you just used your laptop for word processing, so after about 5 minutes, the heat on the graphics chip and processor reaches a temperature, that can't be brought down simply by the air surrounding the chips.

The fans of the laptop have to move more air around the cooling elements and blow out the warm air, and get fresh cool air in.

Since modern laptops try to be as silent as possible, they let the temperature rise until the last moment to start the fans, before the heat damages the hardware. So that's why you think the laptop "kicks into high power after 5 minutes". The Laptop was
already running at high power the moment you started the game, but the temperature wasn't critical enough to let the fans turn on yet.

As for the game locking up, this can be caused by two things:

The PC usually checks for keyboard and mouse input to check if it's supposed to go to power saving mode. If you play with a controller, the computer might "think" you're not actively using it, and it goes into standby, as set in the Energy/Power settings
    of your PC.

If that is the case, you can go to the control panel (press the Windows key and type "Control", then launch the control panel), and in the control panel, type "Energy" into the search field at the top right.

There you can set the standby and shutdown settings separately for battery and docked operation of your laptop. Try to put "Never" for standby and screen saving settings while the PC is in the docked state.

    OR

If the PC's fans can't get rid of the heat produced by the laptop while running games, the computer has internal sensors that reduce the processors clock speed, or shut the system down, if it gets too hot. You might have to put the PC out of the docking
bay, and put it on a special stand that allows for more "breathing" room, so more fresh, cool air can be blown through the laptop's cooling system, preventing the laptop from overheating and shutting down to protect the hardware.

Either way: When the PC goes into standby, be it from too much heat or lack of detected keyboard/mouse input, the laptop also turns off the network hardware to conserve power.

When you wake up the laptop, it can take a while, until the network hardware is "brought back to life", get's an IP address via DHCP, etc., and during that time, the game and Xbox apps erroneously think there is no network connection.

So in case the laptop shuts down because of the energy settings, you should eliminate the network problem as well with a setting, that prevents the laptop to go to sleep/standby while being connected to it's power adapter/docking station.

    Wireless Connection Issue?

    Hey WayUpHigh,

Thanks for keeping us updated. Can you try having your power mode setting set to "Energy savings mode"? Since the issue seems to work after a reset, I'm thinking letting your console go into sleep mode may be causing this to happen. Possibly a long shot,
    but it could help.

Energy savings mode fully power cycles your console and clears cache on every shutdown, whereas Instant on mode puts your console into sleep mode.

    Let us know the results
