Completely new to Xbox-One, additional controller isn't recognized?

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen. As I said in the subject, I am new to Xbox One.

I have been setting it up for the last hour, downloading updates, and trying to change settings.

I am very eager to start playing, I inserted my Mortal Kombat X disc, and downloaded the updates for it.

I choose 2 player, we get into the character selection menu, we press the middle X button on the controller to turn it on, and all it does is blink, I keep pressing A, but nothing happens. Do I have a defective controller?

We do have a
troubleshooting article here regarding the controller but unfortunately, there's no way to re-calibrate an Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel. The only option would be to completely replace it.

Controller warranty

I have purchased Xbox one s console and an additional controller separately. Both my additional controller and the controller which came with xbox are not functioning. I am looking for replacement warranty for both. I can replace one controller through my
xbox warranty. but how should i go ahead with replacement of the controller which bought separately?

I've had this problem before. Try turning off your Xbox then turning it back on again, also try taking out the batteries/disconnecting both controllers from the Xbox.
