Complete newbie wants 1 year subscription to xBox on-line....

Hi, I have been looking at xbox gold for a year but do I need a gold account ? Is there another subscription I can use just to get started off with ?

@tCruzin You have to buy the Day One 1 year subscription not a regular year subscription. You can always stack the year on top of your current time if you really want the outfit for Jago.

 

Changing purchase option from 3 months to 1 year

Hello, I was just billed and paid for my 3 month subscription for Xbox Live. I find I am using it often and wish to extend my subscription to 1 year. My next bill is not until March.

If I were to purchase a 1 year subscription now would it start immediately on start when my current subscription ends. I don't want to lose out on two months I have already paid for.

If you're wanting to play online multiplayer then you would need a gold subscription.

 

Is it complicated to set up ?

 

No. You just either buy one through Xbox or buy a prepaid gold card and redeem it to your account. Prepaid cards are generally cheaper.

 

This subscription is for my son for christmas. He is 8 and is into Minecraft. Will he benefit from the gold subscription ?

 

If he wants to play online with other people, then yes he will. Otherwise, not really.
